Husband and wife team- Cory Taylor Allen, DMD and Chelsea Bond Allen, DMD– opened Allen Family Dentistry in October of 2009. Dr. Cory grew up in Bowling Green, Kentucky while Dr. Chelsea moved around in her early childhood with the Navy, but spent most of her school years in Los Gatos, California. The Allens met while attending Vanderbilt University, and then studied together at the University of Louisville School of Dentistry. Drs. Cory and Chelsea both served as Dental Officers in the U.S. Navy from 2005 to 2009, moving from San Diego to Sasebo, Japan and finally to Beaufort in 2008. Dr. Cory completed a hospital-based General Practice Residency in San Diego and spent two years aboard the USS Juneau based out of Japan as their dental officer. After completing his active service at MCRD Parris Island, he continued to serve our great country as a reservist and was honorably discharged as a Lieutenant Commander in 2013. Dr. Chelsea completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency focusing on cosmetic procedures while in San Diego. She then ran her own dental clinic in Japan, treating shore-based sailors and family members of deployed sailors. Both of the Allens have done extensive continuing education with an emphasis on implants and cosmetic dentistry. The Allens are active members of Christ Church in Mount Pleasant and live in Brickyard. They have been blessed with three boys, Kirkland, Barrett, and Ferris. The Allens enjoy searching for authentic Japanese restaurants and cooking a wide assortment of dishes that they grew to love from their travels abroad.

Front Office Coordinator, Melissa Barrineau, is a graduate from Trident Technical College in Hospitality and Tourism Management. She has over 15 years of experience in business administration, sales and finance. Melissa is most recognized for building meaningful relationships with patients and giving them individualized care. She is a Charleston native and enjoys sharing her heart and humor around the dinner table.
Financial and Patient Care Coordinator, Coryne Emmolo, moved to Mt. Pleasant from south Florida in the summer of 2014 and hasn’t looked back since. After having earned a certificate in dental assisting in 2008, she discovered a talent for dental financial coordination in 2009 and greatly enjoys her work. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her husband, Topher, and can frequently be seen on the back of his Harley. Coryne also enjoys spending time exploring the greater Charleston area with their dog, Kelsey, and is always looking for the next activity she and her husband can do together.
Dental Hygienist, Dotty Dzurenda, RDH, grew up in Philadelphia, PA. She graduated with her Associates in Dental Hygiene from Montgomery County Community College. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health from the College of Southern Nevada. Dotty moved to Mount Pleasant in 2017 with her husband and two boys. When she is not working she enjoys spending time outside with her family, traveling, and reading.
Dental Hygienist, Crystal Leppert, RDH, graduated from Wando High School. Her dental hygiene degree is from Trident Technical College. She loves being a hygienist, providing each of her patients with individualized oral health education. She strives to make her patients feel comfortable with her gentle, yet, thorough cleanings. In her free time she enjoys being a new mommy, yoga, traveling, boating, many outdoor activities and being with family and friends.
Dental Hygienist, Jennifer Goosie, RDH, is originally from Upstate New York and moved to Charleston October 2007. She graduated with a Dental Hygiene degree from Hudson Valley Community College. Jennifer also has a degree in Physical Education but truly loves and feels that dental hygiene is where her heart belongs. She is a military wife , mother of three, and loves her three English Springer Spaniels. Jennifer is a very welcoming hygienist and will make you feel right at home with a bit of a New York accent on the side.
Dental assistant, Amber Litchfield, grew up in Moncks Corner and is now raising her two amazing children there. She attended Trident Tech and graduated from DATS of Mt. Pleasant. In her free time she enjoys going to be beach, shopping and having fun making memories with her girls.
Dental Assistant, Lexie Walton, originally from Columbus, Ohio graduated from Winthrop University and played lacrosse during her 4 years there. She moved to Charleston in 202o but had frequently visited Charleston while in college. She loves talking with patients about her dog, Shep and The Ohio State University Football team. She is one of our newest additions to the team and we love seeing her smile!
Office Mascot and Greeter, Sukoshi Victoria, is the Allen’s five and a half pound dog. She joined their family while the Allens were overseas with the U.S. Navy and her name means “little bit” in Japanese.
